Contest Overview
The Future Vision Contest invites Brown County students to envision their community 100 years from now. This contest aligns with Brown County United Way's mission to co-create inclusive community solutions.
Student Eligibility
Grade Levels: K-12 students enrolled in Brown County schools (or home schools)
Participation Options: Individual submissions OR collaborative group work
Residency: Students must live or attend school within Brown County boundaries
Teacher Responsibilities
Assist with student submissions
Verify student eligibility, obtain parent release form, and distribute prizes for winning submissions
Content Guidelines
Appropriate Content: All submissions must be school-appropriate
Original Work: Students must create original content (no plagiarism)
Respectful Representation: Must show respect for all community members
Positive Focus: Emphasis on solutions and improvements
Submission Process for Teachers
Collection Methods
Digital works may be submitted to Brown County United Way’s website through a Dropbox submission form. Students are advised to name their files in the format [FirstLast].(pdf/mp3/mp4/etc.)
Group projects should be named in the format [TeacherName]GroupProject[1].(pdf/mp3/mp4/etc.) and include all students’ names in the project content. Any unidentifiable projects may be ineligible for prizes.
Physical items including but not limited to paintings, drawings, or sculptures should be collected by a teacher and pickup arranged with Brown County United Way staff or volunteers via the email address contest@browncountyunitedway.org. Please include details of the number of items, pickup location, and desired pick-up time. Physical items can also be dropped off at Brown County United Way’s office at 111 N Roosevelt St., Green Bay, WI 54301. Please arrange for a staff member to meet you via the contest@browncountyunitedway.org email address. Physical items should be identified with the student(s)’ name, grade, teacher/classroom, teacher contact information and school.

- Contact information (teacher name and email)
- School Name

- Teacher Email: Mid- to Late-August
- Submissions Open: September 3rd
- Student Submission Deadline to Teachers: September 25th, 2025
- Teacher Submission Deadline: October 3rd, 2025
- Winner Notification: October 30th, 2025
- Centennial Gala: November 8th, 2025
Classroom Timeline Suggestions
- Week 1: Introduce contest, brainstorm ideas
- Week 2: Create submissions
- Week 3: Finalize and submit to teacher
Judging Process
Brown County United Way staff, as well as community leaders and volunteers will meet to evaluate contest submissions. Submissions will be compared with age-appropriate expectations. Students’ identifying information will be removed, when possible. For those submissions where this is not possible, evaluators will be asked to recuse themselves from grading any submissions that might present a conflict of interest.
Legal and Administrative Details
Intellectual Property
- Students retain ownership of their creative work
- Brown County United Way requests permission to use submissions for educational and promotional purposes, including the BCUW Centennial Gala.
- Works considered for BCUW reproduction or promotional use will require a parent-signed release form.
Privacy and Safety
- Student personal information kept confidential
- Only first names and grade levels used in public recognition
- Parental consent required for any public appearances

Alternative submission formats accepted as needed
