January 27, 2026 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Join Community Champions to learn how the cost-of-living crisis affects food security for working individuals and families in Brown County. This event is suitable for all backgrounds – no experience necessary. So, if you care about feeding everyone in our community, spend your lunch hour with us and leave ready for action!
This virtual seminar will cover:
- How rising food costs affect the 1 in 3 households below the ALICE® Threshold (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed)
- An overview of Brown County’s food system: components, gaps, challenges, opportunities
- Updates on the status of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), known as FoodShare in Wisconsin
- How to help reduce stigma regarding food pantry usage
- What pantries actually need
You will leave with information about how to support local pantries and your family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers who rely on them!
