United Way seeks applicants for $70,000 in grants

Green Bay - The Brown County United Way has designated $70,000 for one-time grants to programs that respond to emerging needs in Brown County. The United Way will accept proposals until August 30.

Programs eligible to receive funding must:

- Be a 501(c)(3) located in Brown County, and serve Brown County residents exclusively.

- Be legally incorporated as a not-for-profit human health, welfare or social service organization.

- Have the capacity to submit semi-annual, fiscal and outcomes reports.

- Show a clear mission with objectives and measurable outcomes.

- Have a constitution or set of bylaws that indicates purpose, duties and responsibilities.

- File a copy of its national, state or regional affiliation with the Brown County United Way. If an agency is providing a service that requires licensing, that license must be current.

The grant will not fund projects that are designated to be one-time activities, that carry administrative overhead of more than 15 percent or that plan to purchase equipment worth more than $1,000.
