Thanks...
Dear United Way Neighbor,
Welcome again to the Brown County
United Way monthly newsletter. We hope you enjoyed our
January edition.
As our campaign comes to a close,
we'd like to thank everyone who participated this year.
Each campaign sees it's share of compassion, community
involvement and dedication, and 2007-08 has been no
exception. It truly has been a banner year for our Brown
County community and the United Way.
We'd also like to give a special
thanks to everyone who sent us their comments and
insights last month. If you have any additional
thoughts, we always like to hear from you. Please send
them directly to Adam Hardy, Communications Manager, at
any time by writing adam@browncountyunitedway.org
or call 432-3393 ext. 8648.
And please don't forget to forward
our newsletter to your friends, family and
coworkers!
As always, thank you for caring about
our
community. | |
President's Report By Gregg
Hetue
President and
CEO
A year has gone by since I flew up
from Pensacola to attend the annual United Way meeting,
officially to accept the position as our new President
and CEO.
It has been a very rewarding
year.
We started by looking at our current
organizational model and whether it would allow us to
deliver on community impact. We've since succeeded in
implementing a redesign, and I feel that the new model
will serve us well into the future. I would like to
thank the board, and especially Todd Ericksrud, for
their leadership and trust in this process. We must also
thank Peter Beth of the Schneider National project
management team for many hours of hard work on this
process.
Our workplace campaign has gone well
this year. Under the guidance of Rick Hearden from
Johnson Bank and Ken Ciak of Ameriprise Auto & Home
Insurance, we recruited almost 90 volunteers,
reorganized our campaign cabinet and visited several new
companies. We will unveil the final campaign total at
our 2007 Annual Meeting this Thursday at 11:30 a.m. If
you haven't already sent your RSVP, please do so and
join us for the festivities. You can learn more about
the event here.
Our 2-1-1 Information and
Referral Center, the Community Partnership
for Children and several other initiatives have
provided real value to Brown County this year. You will
hear a lot more in coming months about the success of
these vital programs. United Way's role continues to be
that of a neutral convener of partners to achieve a
successful solution to the community's most urgent
problems. Much of the research for this is born out of
our five United Way Community
Impact Councils, and these volunteers should be
commended for their dedication and expertise.
We look forward to continued growth,
both in resources and in successful programming in 2008,
and we are also looking for a new home this year. We
need about 3,500 square feet, plenty of parking and a
visible identity. Can you help us out?
Oh, by the way, did I mention
low-cost as well?
Thank you for your continued
support. |

Campaign
Update By
Alicia Van Straten Campaign
Manager
The end of our 2007-08 campaign is
fast approaching and we are excited to announce our
campaign total. . . but not yet! If you want to hear how
much our community raised for this year's campaign,
you'll have to attend our recognition lunch
this Thursday, February 7!
But I would like to say a HUGE thank
you to our campaign cabinet and every company in Brown
County who participated in this year's campaign. By way
of recognition, we've listed companies below that have
succeeded in going above and beyond for Brown County.
And we are pleased to say that the lists are quite
lengthy!
Thank you again everyone for all of
your hard work and efforts that have made the 2007-08
Brown County United Way campaign a success so far!

2-1-1 Get Connected, Get
Answers - A Six Month
Overview
Since Brown County's official
kickoff in June 2007, the 2-1-1 call center has been off to a
great start. Statistically, our call volume is above the
national average for our first six months. The national goal
is to achieve 3 percent of the total population within two
years of a public launch.
Below is a
summary of the data collected for 2007. A more detailed report
is scheduled to be released in mid-February.
