Make an Impact on a Youth. GIVE
Brown County United Way funding has given Jameson the opportunity to experience activities he never thought possible - experiences he is sharing with Brett, his Big Brother.
Brett and Jameson were matched in June of 2004 through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeastern Wisconsin. Since that time, these two have been constantly on the go. “We get together once a week, and we always do some sort of activity. Usually, it revolves around sports,” says Brett.
Jameson just loves the opportunity to try all these new activities. “Before I had a Big Brother, I didn’t get to do a lot. Now I get to do a lot of fun stuff with Brett! He makes me happy.”
According to Brett, Jameson has become less shy since they first met. Jameson’s mom is equally thrilled with her son’s match. She says, “Jameson is doing better in school. Plus, he has a better outlook on life now. I don’t know if that’s from having a male role model or from just having something to look forward to each week.”
And if Brett has anything to say about it, Jameson will be looking forward to their outings for years to come. “As he grows, I want to be able to be someone Jameson can talk to and look up to,” says Brett.
Without your support of the Brown County United Way, relationships such as Brett and Jameson’s may not be possible.
