Program/Service Description:
The Board on Aging and Long Term Care is responsible for the Ombudsman program as well as the Medigap Help Line. It also acts as an advocate for older adults. The Ombudsman program protects and promotes the rights of long-term care consumers, working with residents and their families to achieve quality care and quality of life. The Medigap Help Line assists people with questions regarding Medicare and Medicaid benefits, the Spousal Impoverishment Protection laws, Medicaid Estate Recovery law, Medicaid program and other benefit questions.
