The Community Connect ions E-mail Group

connect@browncountyunitedway.org

– Fostering Communication, Collaboration, and Coordination –

The Brown County United Way and Start Smart/The Early Childhood Council are pleased to support this free communications tool for all agencies, organizations, and individuals providing human services in Brown County .

The Community Connect ions E-mail Group has two main purposes:

1.)   To offer a forum in which providers can easily communicate with one another by posting questions about local services, grants information and other funding opportunities, program openings, and additional items of common interest.

2.)   To give providers an opportunity to collaborate and coordinate across agencies and organizations through increased communication.

Are you having trouble finding transportation or a translator for a client?  Do you want to share your organization’s newsletter or information about a grant opportunity, parenting workshop or training seminar?  Do you need supplies or have surplus items to donate?

The Community Connect ions E-mail Group (or “ Connect ” for short) offers an opportunity to post this information and much more.  Anytime you have a question or announcement, all you have to do is send an e-mail to connect@browncountyunitedway.org and this message will be routed to an entire community of your colleagues within the day.

The e-mail group exists as a service to you.  It is a work in progress, so please do not hesitate to share your ideas and comments.  Also feel free to invite others to join by sending a request to connect@browncountyunitedway.org; the more people who sign up and become active participants, the more effective and informative it will be.

Thank you for all that you do to improve the quality of life for everyone in Brown County !

Community Connect ions E-mail Group Information and User Tips:

  1. If you would like to sign up for the e-mail group, please send a message to connect@browncountyunitedway.org with the word “subscribe” in the subject line.  After this request is made, you may begin sending information to post to connect@browncountyunitedway.org.

  1. Please remember to include your name and contact information in the text of all messages you send to make it easy for colleagues to get in touch with you.

  1. connect@browncountyunitedway.org will appear in your e-mail inbox as the “sender” of all messages to and from the e-mail group.  “Community Connect ions” will appear in the subject line.  Connect notices are sent out on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays each week, except on the days when there are no messages.  Postings sent by 4pm the day prior to Monday, Wednesday, and Friday’s will be featured the following day.

  1. Your e-mail address will not be shared with other organizations.  The e-mail group list will not be visible when messages are posted to the larger audience.

  1. You may unsubscribe at any time; send a request to connect@browncountyunitedway.org.  Please include the word “unsubscribe” in the subject line.

  1. If you receive duplicate postings/messages, let us know by sending an e-mail to connect@browncountyunitedway.org and we will try our best to fix the problem.

  1. Please try to keep your postings/announcements as brief as possible and do not include graphics.  Messages cannot be “held” into the future to be posted at a later date.  Send your announcement the day before you would like it to be posted.  It’s ok to send an announcement more than once if, for instance, you would like to publicize an event several weeks in advance and then send reminders.

  1. Please do not send attachments and instead state the information you wish to share in the text of your e-mail message.  Many e-mail group members are not able to receive attachments at their workplaces.  If you have an attachment that you need to publicize, such as a calendar or flyer, we could potentially post it on United Way 's website, or you could suggest that people contact you to obtain a copy.

  1. Job postings are featured so that subscribers can share these opportunities with clients.  Such information will always be featured at the end of the day’s list of messages.  Job listings outside of Brown County will not be posted.

  1. If you have questions about the Community Connect ions E-mail Group, send an e-mail to connect@browncountyunitedway.org, or contact Mary Vang at mary@browncountyunitedway.org.
