Program/Service Description:
Mission: The department has established a city-wide system of parks, open space and recreational facilities that will economically provide De Pere residents of all ages with adequate, convenient and high quality/safe recreation and leisure experience on a year-round basis. The department has also established a progressive Urban Forestry program through proper planning, planting and maintenance to provide a better environment for the citizens of De Pere. Profile: The department administers programs and maintains 282 acres of parks/greenspace which includes two (2) outdoor swimming pools, three (3) boat launch facilities and a community center. We provide a variety of recreation programs for all ages at the many facilities we have in the parks and at the community center. Recreational activities are provided year-round through the cooperation of the east and west school districts.
