Program/Service Description:
If you or a loved one is diagnosed with cancer, it is important you have the information to make good decisions regarding treatment. Research shows that patients who take an active interest in their health care can have a positive effect on their outcomes. While there is an abundance of cancer information available, it can be difficult to navigate through it all. That’s where the Vince Lombardi Cancer Hotline can help. When you call the Hotline you will be connected to a cancer information specialist at St. Luke’s Regional Cancer Center. He or she will take time to understand your personal concerns and address your specific information needs using a wide range of resources. Resources available include the following: A cancer library & computer A physician data query of the National Cancer Institute Internet searches for nationwide clinical trials Access to second opinion program Access to state of the art technology, including gamma knife and cyberknife
