Program/Service Description:
Located at the Business Assistance Center on the campus of Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, the Urban Hope Entrepreneur Center's mission is to empower people and their communities through entrepreneurship. Goals include: - Create a giving-back responsibility as a condition of the free enterprise system - Empower people to gain influence over their own lives and the community - Develop self-sufficiency The "Stepping Up to New Opportunities" entrepreneur series equips aspiring entrepreneurs with knowledge, discipline, skills, vision and creativity. The participant is guided through small business concepts and issues, and is empowered to realize his or her potential to create an impact on the economic landscape. Urban Hope is a network of over a hundred volunteer professional and business leaders. The volunteers offer their time to teach, mentor and network with the entrepreneurs to assure their success. The following three objectives will be accomplished: - Business planning skills - Entrepreneurial management training - Snapshot of 40 small business issues and challenges
