Program/Service Description:
A self-help organization for people who have had or are having: stress and tension, anxiety or panic, depression or fatigue, sleep problems or worry, anger or fears, feeling helpless or hopeless. What Happens at Meetings? Members read a chapter of the book, "Mental Health Through Will Training," written by Dr. Abraham Low, Recovery's founder. Members then volunteer examples that describe how they are using the self-help method to cope better. The Recovery Method is a system of techniques for controlling temperamental behavior and changing attitudes toward nervous symptoms and fears. The leader of the group is a group member who has received leadership training.
