Program/Service Description:
The Boys & Girls Club of Green Bay helps school age youth make better choices and reach their full potential. As experts in youth development, our professionally trained staff offers nationally-proven programs in a safe and accepting environment. It is our belief that all young people, regardless of background or circumstances, should be equipped to respect others and make our community a better place to live. The Boys and Girls Club of Green Bay has 2 locations in Green Bay: 1. East side, Thomas H. Lutsey Youth Center,1451 University Ave. 2. West side, Bruce W. Nagel Youth Center, 311 S. Oneida. Programs Offered: 1. Education & Individual Growth: academic support, tutoring, computer education, group and individual counseling, drug and alcohol awareness program, and career planning. 2. Cultural Enrichment: arts, crafts, music, dance and theater. 3. Social Recreation: movies, dances, roller-skating, ping-pong, pool, and board games. 4. Health and Physical Education: seasonal team sports, aerobics, racquetball, fitness, weight training, and health education. 5. Citizen and Leadership Development: Keystone & Torch Clubs, Youth of the Year, Jr. Staff, and special interest groups. Groups Include: 1. Self Esteem group for ages 7-9 2. Respect yourself & others group for ages 7-10 3. Drug and alcohol prevention for ages 10-13 4. Drug and alcohol prevention for ages 7-9 5. Gang prevention group ages 13 and up
