Program/Service Description:
Parents and others can place money into a trust, which is pooled with other people's funds, invested, and managed by professional trustee. Money from the trusts can be used to improve and maintain the quality of life and independence of people with disabilities. Transportation, dental services, medical care not covered by public benefits, representative payee services, social interactions, case management and care coordination are often purchased from the money placed in a trust. All people in Wisconsin who have a disability are eligible to participate in the trusts. People receiving Supplemental Security Income or Social Security Disability Insurance are automatically eligible to participate.
