Program/Service Description:
Lifeline and Link Up programs provide telephone financial assistance to eligible households for either land line or a cellular line. Lifeline keeps telephone service affordable by reducing monthly telephone charges and Link Up is designed to pay for local telephone connection and installation charges. Eligible households will reduce their monthly bill to no more than $15 under Lifeline program for the following services: a residential line, 120 local calls, 911, and Federal subscriber line charge. To be eligible for both you must receive benefits from one of the following: WI Homestead Tax Credit, Wisconsin Works/W2, Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income, Food Stamps, Low Income Home Energy Assistance program or Badger Care. To apply contact your local telephone company and request to apply for Lifeline or Link Up assistance or speak with a county Benefit Specialist.
