Program/Service Description:
This is an emergency response system operated through St. Vincent Hospital. A person wears a help button that when pushed, alerts staff that help is needed. The staff will then call to find out what kind of help is needed. They will also send a responder, a friend, neighbor or relative you have chosen to check on you. There is a small installation charge and a small monthly monitoring fee for this program. However, if a Community Care application is filled out through the hospital and a person qualifies for this program and is on the COP waiting list, the monthly fee may be partially waved or totally waved until COP funding becomes available for the person. Also available is the medication reminder telephone which costs $33 per month.
