Program/Service Description:
A staff person will complete an in-depth evaluation of a person with a developmental disability or a physical disability and his/her residence. Staff will make recommendations to improve the accessibility of the home and/or plan for an addition or new construction. An assessment of technology needs to determine what type could help an individual reach a goal of independence can also be completed. There is also a loan closet of medical equipment such as walkers, commodes, scooters, wheelchairs available for individuals. For a minimal fee the equipment can be borrowed to determine if it will meet the needs of an individual before purchasing it. Equipment available includes items for activities for daily living, people with hearing or visual loss, recreation, and other related activities. Staff can also provide on-site worker's task evaluation and recommendations to provide for more ergonomic, less stressful working conditions.
