No fees are charged to the consumer. some programs such as home accessibility, benefits, and computer assessments may require fee payments from a 3rd party payer, ie Division of Vocational Rehab, County Human Services, Insurance Companies, etc. is available.

Program/Service Description:
Options for Independent Living is a non profit organization that is committed to assisting people of all ages and all disabilities to lead independent and productive lives. Services provided include: act as an advocate on behalf of people with disabilities; peer support by those who have experienced a disability and have attained a substantial degree of independence; information and referral to community resources; independent living skills training in the areas of household management, budgeting, and management of personal care assistants; information about financial assistance for ramp building; homeownership counseling (information about resources available that help in purchasing a home); benefits analysis (information about how employment affects a person's benefits); residential assessment (information about improving the accessibility of a person's home); computer assessment (information on accessible computer technology); and assistive technology (information on assistive technology). Information is also available about the WisLoan and Telework Loan Programs. WisLoan is an alternative loan program that allows residents with disabilities to purchase assistive technology that helps them to live more independently and productively. Telework is a low interest rate loan program that allows residents with disabilities to purchase computers and other electronic equipment needed to work from home or from other remote sites away from the office. The staff at Options will take applications for the WisLoan and Telework Programs.
