Program/Service Description:
NFB Newsline is a free newspaper service for those who are unable to read regular newsprint and are visually impaired. Participating newspapers are converted to synthetic speech. Subscribers can then access the newspaper through any touch-tone telephone. Subscribers dial one toll free number, enter an ID and security code, and begin "reading" their favorite newspapers. You can choose the paper you want, the sections you want and the articles. The application and other information are available on the web site. To subscribe to the service, click on the "get your newspapers over the telephone" link on the web page. Then click on the "application" link. Print out the application, fill it out and mail it to the National Federation of the Blind. Within a week, the applicant will receive a letter with the ID and security code to access the service.
