Program/Service Description:
Monroe Plaza is a federally subsidized housing complex for people age 50 or older, or who are disabled/handicapped. There are 196 units. To be eligible for an apartment, you need to meet the following income guidelines: one person, very low income--$22,600, low income--$36,200; two people, very low income--$25,850, low income--$41,350. Priority given to very low income. Rent is 30 percent of adjusted gross income. There is a secured front door, pull cords are in the apartments, and laundry facilities are available. It is a congregate meal site, serving meals at noon. Reservations are required on day in advance for the meal.
