Program/Service Description:
Lutheran Social Services offers a Representative Payee/budget counseling service to older adults, the developmentally disabled population and the general public. A medical doctor must complete a "Statement of Patient's Capability to Manage Benefits" indicating the need of a payee. An interview is conducted to determine beneficiary's needs and use of his or her payments to meet those needs. Once established, monthly bills are paid by the payee service and a weekly check is issued to the beneficiary for groceries and personal spending. Outreach appointments are available.
