Program/Service Description:
Addiction intervention teams provide assistance, for the significant people of a person that is struggling with addiction, in the form of an intervention. With sensitivity and confidentiality, trained volunteers meet with family and friends who are concerned about a loved one's abuse of substances or gambling. A team of volunteers gathers with them to provide education, prepare them to participate in the intervention, facilitate the intervention and to assist with referral into treatment. The goal of the intervention is to encourage the person with the addiction to choose a course of treatment and to lovingly support this person in their decision to seek treatment. Not a crisis center or line.
