Program/Service Description:
The Home Maintenance and Repair Program provides hands-on experiences for homeowners to learn to effectively maintain their homes and properly use tools and materials for home maintenance and repair projects. The staff will share their knowledge with homeowners through a unique combination of service and education. In-home services are provided in participants' homes as the ICS staff conducts a detailed walk-through, teaching the homeowner about maintenance and repair needs and providing opportunities for hands-on learning. These services are free of charge to qualifying low-income homeowners. Homeowners whose income is above 80% of the county media income limit may also take advantage of this program for a reasonable service charge. Periodic workshops will also be provided at ICS allowing homeowners to learn about and experience a wide variety of tools and materials. Workshops will also allow homeowners to network and learn from one another. Workshops are free to homeowners of any income level, although donations are accepted. Language interpreters can be provided with an advance notice.
