Program/Service Description:
Comfort Keepers is a non licensed non medical home health care agency. Some of the services provided include: bathing, transferring and positioning, medication reminders, meal preparation, housekeeping, grocery shopping, chore services, errands, respite care and others. Cost is $14 to $19.50/hour. The agency also provides one hour visits for $27; homemaker is $14-$17.50. There is a charge for miles for errands. Comfort Keepers can also provide personal monitoring units through Health Watch. One unit is a fall detector which a person wears and if a fall occurs, the detector will send a signal to a unit that contacts the Health Watch Response Center. Another unit is the personal response system which is similar to Lifeline or an emergency response unit. There are three variations available for the personal response system. Also available is a medication dispenser which can be programmed to remind the person to take their medication and then will automatically dispense the appropriate medications at the appropriate time. There is an activation fee for the units plus a monthly fee.
