Program/Service Description:
Beacon House, Inc. is a not-for-profit health resource founded on the belief that individuals desire to live joyfully and have the capacity for healing, even in situations that involve an illness without a physical cure. Our programs and services enable individuals to create their own "healing relationships" with family, a network of friends, medical providers, and other resources within the community. Beacon House receives funding through grants, fundraising events, and donations. Sustained with the help of volunteers, advisors, and the Board of Directors, the Beacon House offers educational workshops, seminars, and services to complement and supplement traditional medical treatment. Unlike medical centers that treat a person's medical needs, Beacon House hopes to transform the "experience of illness." In this effort, we sponsor our core program, Renewing Life, several times per year. In Renewing Life, you discover transformation tools for living in the circumstances of illness: how to thrive, instead of just survive, treatment; how to access mind-body techniques for healing; how to find control, meaning, and love by living in the moment. Call for a schedule of programs and to pre-register. Volunteer practitioners offer one-on-one therapeutic services such as massage or Reiki at no cost or a minimal charge. Call to schedule an appointment.
