Program/Service Description:
Heat's On program is a once a year, free furnace inspection, performed by volunteers from the Local #400 Plumbers and Steamfitters on the first Saturday morning in October. It is for low income older adults and disabled homeowners. The volunteers inspect furnaces to make sure they are in good working conditions. Applications are required and available beginning September 1. Applicants must own and live in the home they are requesting service in. Criteria includes, but is not limited to income, age of furnace, number of years since the furnace was last serviced. The number of homes that can be serviced each year is limited to the availability of volunteers.
