Program/Service Description:
The Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) processes commingled recyclable containers such as steel cans, aluminum cans, plastic bottles, glass bottles and jars. On average the MRF receives 25 tons/day of material from Brown County residents and businesses. The facility also receives material from Outagamie and Winnebago Counties as well as other surrounding communities. In total the MRF processes 60 tons of containers a day. Paper collected by Brown County communities is taken directly to a local paper mill to be recycled into new paper products
