Program/Service Description:
Head Start is a federal program that helps prepare low-income children to enter school and as preventative measure against school drop-outs later in life. The building on Irwin has: 1. A kitchen 2. A meeting room where parent meetings are held 3. Laundry facilities-for emergency use 4. A child care room Parents can exchange their volunteer services for clothing or items like toilet paper, diapers, soap, toothpaste and laundry detergent.
