Program/Service Description:
Emergency medical services. The fire department operates four ambulances at the advanced life support level. Each ambulance is staffed with a minimum of two Wisconsin licensed paramedics. All fire department engine companies are staffed with Emergency Medical Technicians and equipped with defribrillators, advanced airways, and all necessary supplies that allows the EMTs to assess and treat medical and trauma patients until the ambulance arrives. The department responds to more than 6,000 emergency medical incidents per year.
