The Volunteer Center of Brown County is building a stronger community through volunteerism. Programs and volunteer opportunities are available for individuals of all ages and abilities. COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER PROGRAM - this program connects over 12,000 people annually with volunteer opportunities in nearly 200 community agencies and schools. People can volunteer as individuals, families, groups, businesses, and service clubs. Ongoing and short-term opportunities are available. BUSINESS/CORPORATE VOLUNTEERING - information for businesses about building employee volunteer programs. VOLUNTEERS WITH DISABILITIES - a unique volunteer program for individuals of all ages with physical, mental, emotional, and developmental disabilities. YOU MATTER MENTORING PROGRAM - mentors help 4th, 5th, or 6th grade students increase their academic performance and social skills. Mentors and children meet once a week at school over lunch and recess. RETIRED AND SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM - each year over 300 RSVP Program volunteers provide 50,000 recorded hours of service to our community! RSVP staff works with volunteers over the age of 55 to match their interests and abilities. B.A.B.E.S (Beginning Alcohol and Addictions Basic Education Series) Through BABES, teams of volunteers present a series of puppet shows to 2nd graders to area elementary schools. Each year nearly 900 students learn good decision making skills, healthy living techniques, and information needed to prevent alcohol and drug abuse. READING COACHES FOR KIDS - a volunteer tutoring program, working with grades K-3 during the school year. Tutors choose the days and time convenient.
