Program/Service Description:
The Wheelchair Recycling Program collects used medical equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, canes and crutches. The items are then repaired and redistributed to people who otherwise would not have access to needed or appropriate equipment. The project is geared toward individuals who cannot financially rent or own, or do not have Medicaid or Medicare to help pay the cost of the durable medical equipment needed. You must be able to pick up the equipment in Madison. Donations of durable medical equipment and financial contributions are accepted by the project. There is also a program in Milwaukee at 1237 W Bruce St.
