Program/Service Description:
A foundation that provides grants to help pay for medical equipment for individuals who have a spinal cord injury. Applicants must request specific modifications or equipment such as upgrade or maintenance of a wheelchair, van or car modification, home modifications or other adaptive equipment. Eligibility includes: must be a paraplegic or quadriplegic paralyzed due to an injury to the spinal cord, demonstrate a financial need, and reside in the United States. A completed application must be mailed to the foundation. Grants are disbursed directly to suppliers of the desired equipment or modification and an estimate from the supplier must accompany the application. Applications are accepted year-round and are considered at quarterly meetings. Grants can range from $4,000 to $7,500; there is no minimum award. See the website for application.
