Program/Service Description:
This is a recovery center for adults 18 or older that have severe and persistent mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, depression, bi-polar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder and post traumatic stress disorder. The center also serves those with co occurring disorders. The Gathering Place is a unique mental health service in Brown County in that 100% mental health consumers operate the center. We are a community of peers, furthering each other's recovery through empowering activities and the sharing of life experiences in an environment of dignity and respect. Programming includes peer support group, dual diagnosis support group, hearing voices support group, anger management, life skills, computer lab with internet access, expressive art classes, art gallery, lending library and resource center, monthly speakers, monthly educational videos, scholarships to conferences, volunteer opportunities and recognition, movie night, arts and crafts, Bible study, prayer group and Packer tailgate parties. Membership is free.
