Program/Service Description:
Individualized day and pre-vocational rehabilitation services are provided to survivors of brain injury and other serious neurological conditions. This program incorporates the skills and talents of therapy staff as well as mental health clinicians. Areas covered in the program include: abstract reasoning skills, anger management, career exploration/vocational skills, communication, functional living skills, personal adjustment and others. The McCarron-Dial System can also be administered to assess the educational, residential, and vocational potential of adults with neurological impairments. It identifies the individual's strengths and weaknesses in the areas of intellectual, sensory, motor, coping/adaptive behavior and emotional/behavioral functioning. The results can be used to assist individuals and potential employees with the challenges that a brain injured person often encounters in the work situation. There is also a support group held the second Tuesday of the month from 5:30pm to 7:00pm.
