Program/Service Description:
People age 60 and older serve as grandparent role models and help children who need special one-on-one attention. They are stipend volunteers who help at any of seven Encompass Early Education and Care Centers in Green Bay, Allouez, and De Pere. As well as being 60 years or older, these seniors must meet the limited income guidelines. Volunteer hours can be anywhere between 15 and 40 hours per week at $2.65/hour, which is not considered income when applying for other programs. Lunch is provided daily and travel is reimbursed monthly.
