Program/Service Description:
Cellcom's Lifeline/Telephone Financial Assistance provides reduced rates under federal and state universal service programs to eligible customers for wireless service (cellular telephone) and activation. Eligible wireless subscribers must have a billing address and reside within Cellcom's licensed markets in Wisconsin. Only one federally subsidized telephone is available per household. Cellcom must receive satisfactory evidence of your participation in one of these programs: BadgerCare, FoodShare (formerly food stamps), Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), Medicaid (MA), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), WI Homestead Tax Credit, and Wisconsin Works or W2. Service will terminate upon loss of eligibility in these programs. The participant may be required to re-verify his/her eligibility on an annual basis. Included in the program: free activation, free voicemail, and free incoming Quik/Txt messages. Monthly rate is $19.95 which includes 300 anytime minutes and 3000 night and weekend minutes. There are optional features for additional charges. A Lifeline Limited plan is also available for $15 per month, which does not allow roaming outside of Cellcom's home area or any billable features. People eligible may also qualify for connection assistance under the Link-up program which credits customers for a portion of installation charges through the federal Link-up program.
