Program/Service Description:
The Juvenile Court Unit receives referrals from law enforcement under Chapter 938 of the Wisconsin Juvenile Justice Code. Services include 24/7 coverage for custody intake, deciding whether referrals can be handled by deferring cases from juvenile court on whether a formal juvenile petition needs to be filed with a referral to the District Attorney. The Juvenile Court Unit attempts to rehabilitate youth with the use of various community based services.
