Program/Service Description:
An Ombudsman serves as an advocate to protect and promote the rights of long-term care consumers. An Ombudsman investigates complaints in a nursing home or a community based residential facility with a goal of problem resolution. An Ombudsman is a resource to anyone with questions about long-term care and works with residents, families, and facilities to improve the quality of life for long-term care consumers.
