Program/Service Description:
The Positive Parenting Program provides in-home, individualized and supportive services for families in which one or both parents have a cognitive disability. Services are voluntary and provided in the home and community. The program provides support and assistance to expectant parents, parents of infants, as well as parents of older children. Assistance is provided with assessing basic needs such as food, housing, clothing, linking families to physicians and other health providers for their children. Screening and education are provided regarding nutrition, child development, safety, parenting and home management.
