Program/Service Description:
The Carrier Alert program is an emergency response system. The program works as follows: a red carrier alert label is placed in the mailbox. The label tells the mail carrier to watch the mailbox daily for uncollected mail. If you are going to be gone for a day or more, you need to cover the label. If the mail is not collected and the label is not covered, the mail carrier reports your name to the postal supervisor who in turns contacts the Aging & Disability Resource Center. A staff person will then try to contact you or have a friend or relative try and reach you. If you are over age 60 or disabled and live in Green Bay, you can register for this program at no cost. To join you need to fill out a registration form which can be obtained from the Aging & Disability Resource Center.
