Impact Councils
For people who want to make an impact in the community, the Brown County United Way is the expert in creating lasting change.
Our local volunteers from all walks of life rigorously study the needs and changes of Brown County and work to measurably improve community conditions. Nearly 100 of these volunteers serve on five Impact Councils that focus on the following areas:
- Basic Needs & Self-Sufficiency
- Children & Families
- Community Access & Resources
- Health & Wellness, and
- Youth Development
Impact Council volunteers determine how best to distribute your donations to meet identified community needs. Every year they monitor the outcomes of Brown County United Way-funded programs. They work year-round with United Way staff to champion Community Change Initiatives: 2-1-1 and the Community Partnership for Children. And every two years, they evaluate emergency and prevention programs based on six criteria:
- Performance
- Impact
- Fiscal responsibility
- Community diversity
- Program improvement, and
- Outcomes
This evaluation process is unique to the United Way and ensures that your donations are invested wisely.
