This is a guest blog post written by Marketing Committee member, Molly Vandervest with the Green Bay Phoenix Athletics. Thanks Molly!
Last night I enjoyed taking in a big Packers victory over Seattle and watched the coverage today of tailgating and comradery. A little over a month ago, I sat in the stands at Lambeau Field as the Brown County United Way kicked off their 2015-16 Campaign at Family Night. I think having this announcement at Lambeau is quite fitting when considering the significance of Lambeau and what it means for our community of 100,000 people.
We are so fortunate in so many ways for the resources and amenities we enjoy because we have a professional football team. Life here, however, isn’t perfect. As I sat with my family at Lambeau running into other family and friends, I was struck by how fortunate I felt to be able to enjoy a night like that. Not everyone is so fortunate.
While successful on the football field, this community is facing a number of tough challenges off the field. I am hoping we can think about this as we head into the 2015-16 United Way campaign and consider investing in an organization who is looking at collectively facing those challenges and measuring outcomes. Can you help the United Way win big this year?Share
